The role of a principal has changed significantly over the past decade due to increasing emphasis on high academic standards, testing, and accountability. Traditionally, principals have been expected to comply with official orders, address personnel issues, order supplies, balance program budgets, keep hallways and playgrounds safe, troubleshoot situations that threaten tranquil public relations, and make sure that busing and meal services operate smoothly.

In addition to performing these organizational and managerial tasks, today’s principals are expected to be a leader, setting directions for student learning. They also are expected to coach, teach, and develop the teachers in their schools and be the instructional leader. Overall, this change in the role of the principal might best be described as a movement from management to leadership, with management still necessary for the efficient operation of the school.

In addition, the principal is expected to have leadership and relationship-building capabilities that allow him to influence others to achieve mutually agreed upon purposes for the organization.

Dr. M. RAMESH KUMAR MBA., Ph.D., is the Principal of RONALD ROSS P.G. COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES and he is distinguished academic personality held various positions in the academics, the research and the industrial arena for 10 years. He has been awarded Doctorate by Osmania University for his impressive research in the area of branding and brand equity. He published an article on Management Information Systems in Public Sector Organizations in the State of Andhra Pradesh. He organized various seminars and workshops by practicing Entrepreneurs and officials from District Industrial Center, A.P., Industrial Training Consultancy Organisation and A.P. Productivity council to promote Entrepreneurship among building Managers and Technocrats. His efficient management has endeared him to one and all, whether it is our staff or students.


Dr. S.VENKATESHWAR RAO M.Sc., B.Ed., Ph.D., is the Director of RONALD ROSS P.G. COLLEGE FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE. He is an eminent academician and an able administrator. He is also Secretary for Jagruti Institute of Engineering & Technology. He is a good teacher and recipient of Best Principal award from the government of Andhra Pradesh (SWD). His splendid traits of planning, organizing and administration gives the much needed dynamism to our college. In short, he is a visionary and futuristic. He believes always in strict discipline and punctuality. Apart from this, he is a true social worker and philosopher by nature and holds many coveted posts in various social organizations.
